What I noticed when we started shifting to a lot of virtual presentations, people would come to me and with this line, they say, Well, I used to be good in the room, but now on camera, I'm not so good. And the reality is, they weren't so good in the room. Because see what happens is the camera magnifies your flaws. The other challenge is, when you're on camera, this thing sucks energy, sucks energy out of your presentation, your camera just diminishes, sucks, it sucks the energy out of you, the presenter, and out of your audience. And so what people need to understand, speakers need to understand is you need to make up for that energy drain by making your presentation shorter, and you need to have a lot more engagement with the audience. Use the tools, because the engagement grabs their attention back and transmits a little bit of an energy charge.
